Wendy and the Other Side Issue #1 is a 26-page children’s fantasy story that’s a great mix between BONE and CORALINE, with a bit of SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS thrown in for good measure.

This story starts just as Wendy moves into a new home with her mother. She finds a mysterious Hall of Portraits, and literally falls through an old painting - landing herself in another world! 

Soon, she comes across three zany zombies - who have more fun teasing her than eating her, and they all embark on a journey - all unraveling a mystery on where they are, who they are, and the secrets of the world.

This is a passion project to the nth degree - a childhood dream brought to life! Wendy and the Other Side is based on a cartoon I’d try to do throughout highschool, at the time just called: Karl.

I want you to picture it. The year is 2011. I’m a scene kid in his sophomore year of high school. 

In fact, don’t just picture it. Here’s an actual picture of me in high school:

You’re welcome. Now as you can imagine, that kid watched way too many Tim Burton movies. And so he took his pencil to paper and started doodling cartoon characters. Namely, Karl - at the time, the titular character!

Now, a decade after graduating aforementioned high school, I’m diving back into this project with full force, but this time with the backing of high-quality artists to provide a fully-fledged children’s fantasy comic book - live on Kickstarter now!
